I have come across
some interesting writing by
Alexander Obenauer, who I do not know. He seems to know his stuff, but I wonder what is his background? On almost all of my sites where I publish my writing I include some form of an About box for the purpose of telling the reader a bit about myself, hopefully distinguishing myself a bit from others who publish on the web. I write this because Alexander doesn't have any background information on his site and that got me wondering whether I am abnormal in my point of view?

Alexander's research is about the future of personal computing, which is an idea that inspired my site
Real Personal Computing that has become a bit dormant. The thesis for my site was a reaction to the term "post-PC era" that became common shortly after the launch of the Apple iPad.
I wrote, "Although I understand why the term “post-PC” fits to denote a pivot away from the type of computers most people have used in the past, I contend that in actuality the devices we have been calling personal computers all these years never were personal computers and that
the tablets and smartphones now on the market today are the first real personal computers." I believe this as much today as I did back ten years ago when I wrote that essay.
