- I watched 'When You're Strange' a documentary on the Doors by Tom Dicillo. This is the second time I've seen it, but after listening to The End this morning in the shower, I felt like hanging out with The Doors today. Jim Morrison fascinates me. I love his poetry and love the music. I wonder what demons were trapped inside his head that he couldn't escape from except through drugs and alcohol. Or was he merely emulating one of his literary heroes -Arthur Rimbaud, the French poet who wrote in a letter to Paul Demeny: "A poet makes himself a visionary through a long, boundless, and systematized disorganization of all the senses. All forms of love, of suffering, of madness; he searches himself, he exhausts within himself all poisons and preserves their quintessence. Unspeakable torment, where he will need the greatest faith, a superhuman strength, where he becomes among all men the great invalid, the great accursed - and the Supreme Scientist! For he attains the unknown! So what if he is destroyed in his ecstatic flight through things unheard of, un-nameable..."#
I forgot how fun blogging can be once you tear yourself away from herd mentality and the death grip of marketing and content creation. The freedom of expression is tremendously liberating and tools like
Drummer further strip away the bondage found in mainstream content management systems. Thanks, @davewiner

My computer ecosystem I was thinking about the ecosystem of computers I use. When the iPad Pro 2nd generation came out, with its USB-C port, I thought that was a game-changer. I'd been already transitioning myself to being mainly a tablet user and the iPad Pro with the USB-C port made that possible. But since the pandemic and my greatly reduced travel schedule, I have been using M1 Mac mini during working hours and my MacBook Air around the house when I need a change of scenery. I find myself only using my iPad Pro for surfing the Net, watching Netflix, scrolling social media, jamming to Spotify, and playing PUBG. Anything else, like blogging, editing video and audio, note-making, journalling etc, I do from the laptop or Mac mini.

And now, with the new MacBook Pro coming out next week, I think I'll be firmly back in the laptop camp. I just find that I'm more productive on a laptop than a tablet. I use the desktop when I need the screen real estate that dual monitors provide.

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to mention my iPhone 12 Pro. It's my goto device for communicating via messaging, social media, photography, and on the go audio making.

Actually, the iPad Pro does have one great advantage for me and that is taking notes in meetings using the Apple pencil and the
GoodNotes app. For that reason, I will definitely continue to carry it around with me along with my MacBook when I'm out working with clients.
