My venerable Asus Vivobook S400CA is showing its age. What started as a slightly noisy CPU fan, became a whirring motor yesterday. Had to disable the CPU fan and depends on the fan of the cooler stand for the time being, while waiting for spare part to arrive at a local laptop repair shop. I was tempted to just pickup a refurbished HP, Dell or Lenovo with slightly better specs including SSD storage than the S400CA, i5 Gen3 2.6GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 14" 1366x768 screen. They're now about RM1500. Anyway, the fan repair may cost just RM150 and get me using it another couple years.#
