🌳 I watched the Forest 'highlights' again over breakfast, y'know, just to make sure that it really was as bad as it appeared on MOTD2 late last night. Yep, it was. Oh dear. I then made the mistake of having a quick scroll through the #nffc hashtag on Twitter. I then realised I have better things to do with my time. Arsenal always have a decent season when they are wearing a decent kit btw.

The Rolling Stones and Exile on CD. I knew I would get sucked into a Stones CD buying session. Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet and now Exile, all in the past week. I should stop there. They became a live band rather than studio artists around this time, right?

★ I had a little Novara Media catching up. LOVE 'EM, etc, Tell It Like It Is. But it's still an echo chamber. It would liven things up if they would invite an alternative view to the left / anarcho conversations. You wouldn't want it to become a left incarnation of trashy right wing broadcasters; but at least giving the right wing nut jobs a platform would provide an opportunity to pull apart their free market ideas.

🚌 Lunchtime listening was the superb
Streets Ahead podcast. It has an emphasis on cycling, but also reaches out towards the dreaded phrases of sustainability and smart cities. Basically it's all about getting people moving, staying active and out of their crappy cars. The discussion took a deep dive into austerity and its impacts on transport and lifestyles. It's this type of connected thinking that is missing from much of the mainstream media. Give it a listen.

🏡 In Wisteria News: The wisteria is showing a new growth spurt. Which is really WEIRD. It should be losing its leaves around this time of year. This is happening as well, but it's also leading to some extra autumn growth pushing through from underneath. Oh well. We've got plans to get rid of it anyway. SEE YA!

Album of the Day: Sister Sledge - We Are Family#
Four killer singles, rather weak elsewhere. This has the Chic fingerprints all over it. Sister Sledge are all about the good times, and not break up ballads. This would have made for a brilliant, brilliant 12" EP. A little too diluted with all the slushy stuff.

Another day, another cassette sale on eBay. I managed to offload Brothers in Arms (£5) and some very cheap Bowie Best Of (£7.50). The Brothers in Arms is actually my original from 1985. Yes, as a fifteen year-old I was rocking Dire Straits on my Walkman, and then seamlessly switching to Streetsounds on vinyl. I still rate Brothers in Arms. A and I had a little bop to Walk of Life late last night. BOOZE was involved, natch.

Album of the Day Extra: Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters#
I really wanted to like this. I even looked into a cheapo CD on eBay after having enjoyed all 16 minutes of the album opener Chameleon. £3.49 including P&P sounds about right. Jazz shouldn't be fused with anything. It's just jazz, innit. There was an awful lot of noodling and little action. I think I lack the musical sophistication to enjoy albums without vocals. I need someone to tell the story for me.

🌳 Another Garibaldi Red podcast dropped. It was painful listening. The episode was sub-titled 'Familiar Failings.' I'd add in Forest Familiar Failings - wtf. I do like a good alliteration. The fact was highlighted that Forest have scored a solitary away goal in the PL all season. We don't play away from The World Famous City Ground now until after the World Cup. It's probably for the best.

🎃 Monday evening was spent shouting out F-OFF very loudly whenever some little shits came trick or treating. That's harsh. The words were uttered, but perhaps not so loudly. Buy yeah. Do one, little shits.
