- Looks like Dave is ready to unveil Drummer on the 27th anniversary of his blog (and all blogging). #
- Dave writes that Drummer "will open the doors for a new fluid style of blogging, based on outlining."#
- That's my experience.#
- Actually, it's better than that.#
- When Dave first invited me to test Drummer in late July, I jumped at the chance. On a phone call, I told him that I was looking at a relatively calm time -- just back from a delightful vacation on St. Croix and a new focus at my new job and Malia and Oliver away at camp -- and I anticipated having time to test and blog and report bugs. And that's what I did for the first month or so. It felt good to be using this good tool.#
- And then life got crazy with school and Oliver's soccer season and intensifying work assignments and a major plumbing project that kicked us out of our house for three weeks. I stopped exercising, blocked my family members from texting me (too much anti-vax crap I didn't have the interest to fight), tried to help Erin and the children find a semblance of a schedule, and just struggled to stay afloat.#
- But I kept using Drummer. #
- Why? Because it is quite easy to "click the big plus icon and start typing." And I kept typing, even through the rough weeks. I felt a responsibility to Dave and the other Drummer testers to keep looking for bugs, but this tool actually gave me a simple way to chronicle my days. I didn't blog as much as did when I first started blogging in 2000, but I blogged enough to feel that I was noticing what I was noticing. So Drummer has been great for writing a blog.#
- As an outliner (and like LittleOutliner, which I use every day), Drummer gives me a tool to mix and match ideas, organize notes throughout the day, a remake an endless to-do list for work, home, family, and living.#
- I hope you will try Drummer, and that you will like it as much as I do.#
