I was able to install the latest development version of the TUI project on a customer's site for testing and trainng next Tuesday. There are some minor edge case issues that I hope to track down on Monday.

Discovered a bug in the TUI project that I accidentally introduced when I was adding in the major features last week. I was able to find and fix it last evening so it will be on to the next feature today.

I use Dave Winer's Drummer for writing this blog as well as doing some cool scripting. I was a huge fan and big user of Dave's Userland Frontier which he and Jake Savin are currently porting to modern OSes codenamed Atlantis. I am really looking forward to seeing it in the wild.

I've been watching the increase in people creating cool gadgets using the Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.8inch AMOLED Touch Display so I finally broke down and ordered one! I used to do a lot of "physical computing" with all kinds of microcontrollers including Arduino and many from Adafruit.com. And of course I have worked with a lot of Raspberry Pi projects but it's a "single board computer" not a microcontroller. I loved working with the hardware but have gotten away from it with all of the AI work I have been getting involved with some of my consulting clients. Check out this search on Twitter for ESP32-S3 and you'll see how interest has ramped up with these gadgets. Mine will be arriving in about 10 days hopefully! Can't wait!

We lost our internet and all of the other services supplied by Comcast for about 4 hours last evening. The wicked storms we had on Thursday seemed to have caused damages in their network. Not sure why it took 2 days for the impact to hit our neighborhood.

Had a great time at the Pirate game last night with the family! They actually won a game (1-0) while I was in attendance! The drone show was really cool but I have to admit I'm still a fireworks night kind of guy!

We're going to the Pirates dame this evening with my daughter and her family which includes 2 of our grandsons! After the game the Pirates are putting on a drone show which swill be really cool!

Came to a somewhat important realization with the TUI project yesterday while working on a feature. I am now combining two features to make the TUI more reflective of what is actually on the box that the TUI interacts with as well as making the TUI more efficient. I hope to finish this update over the next two days

I just realized the script I created in Drummer to push the same content to my micro.blog doesn't work with titles and sub content. Compare garywthompson.tech to garywthompson.dev and you'll see what I mean. I'll have to revisit the script after I get back from vacation.
