- I've been having enormous fun with Drummer today, but it's time to set the Drumkit aside for now. That doesn't mean I'm setting Drummer aside. I am switching context, which is super easy in this blogging environment, which is also a customizable publishing tool, which is also a generalized internet thingie development environment, which may yet turn out to be a toaster that can cause lizards to suddenly fall from the sky. #
- It's probably other things to other people—in fact, I know it must be other things to other people, that is how this worksbut those are some of the areas I'm using Drummer for. Some of my internet thingie development stuff is probably really, incredibly stupid. (I may need to re-think that whole lizard thing.)#
- Which brings me to what I'm switching over to, which is the next Sunday post, which is going to be about stupidy again.#
- There is a thing in the universe called "stupidy". Like entropy, stupidy increases. Stupidy is a concept and property which assists in calculating, and reasoning about, the amount of "wtf" in an environment. This increases with the number of participants in, and connections between—and isolation from—various social groups. #
- Why are entire swaths of society able to hold beliefs which are, inarguably, deadly only to those who hold these beliefs? Stupidy has increased.#
- I've done a lot of things in my career. See my bio for some of the highlights. Some of the things I've done have provided me unique insights into stupidy. How it works, how it grows, and how it can lead to some completely amazing, surprising, wonderful, things. #
- I am not talking about Facebook scale, of course. But stupidy is the study of these relationships at literally every scale. #
