- I’ve got LumaFusion and FiLMiC Pro installed, and using the iPad on my lap to control the camera pointed at me on the tripod feels like I’m living in the future. Your camera operator could be anywhere in the world. Also, the iPad includes a robot camera operator called Center Stage which is pretty neat. Who knows, I might get a TV show shot and edited with this rig. Stranger things have happened.#
- Turns out you can use CSS to flip text, and there’s a full-on teleprompter electron app, with source. So it’s plausible you could have a “teleprompter this” button in Drummer.#
- Really though, I need the teleprompter text to show up on the little $50 refurb Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet I got for this purpose. I don’t need Drummer to run there, just the teleprompter, so maybe what I want is a teleprompter web page that I can point at the URL for an opml file#
- Even without the teleprompter app, it turns out that if you have a teleprompter rig and a spare tablet, you can use it to seriously upgrade your Zoom. Use your phone as the camera and mic, and have the tablet just join the meeting without any video or sound. The image will be flipped left-to-right, but you’ll be making eye contact with whoever you’re talking to. This is actually a big deal, there are specialized rigs just for enabling this when you’re interviewing someone in the same room.#
- The teleprompter rig I’m using is basically a small pro model, but it doesn’t need to be made of metal, come in a nice zippered case, etc. Someone could make a plastic version, really it’s just the half-silvered glass and a frame to hold everything in place.#
