I dipped in and out of the Sky Sports stream of the Surrey match away at Old Trafford throughout the morning. It's a weird game selection for the Sky cameras. Surrey are already champions, thank you very much. A relegation game would have made for a far more exciting viewing over the next four days.

Sky's Championship coverage is few and far between these days. It seems like they only televise one live match each season. There's no real need for the expense of sending the cameras to a County ground throughout with all the live streams taking place throughout the country.
#
It was odd watching the Sky coverage. I've become accustomed to the YouTube streams and the more informal approach to commentary and analysis. But if Sky pull out of Championship coverage then that's one more nail in the coffin for the County game. It's still a meaningless game for Surrey, mind.

R got in touch thanking me for the Pan Sonic Kulma album tip off. I knew it would be his thing. It's remained firmly on my CD To Play pile. I can't see it shifting over the coming weeks.

Album of the Day: Paul Simon - Graceland#
I've always loved Graceland and often come back to it. There's a slight uneasiness with the cultural appropriation. Breaking the South African cultural boycott of the time is also not cool. But the album opened up western ears to other possibilities. It's a really happy album that often leaves me dancing.

The daily eBay emails threw up Talk Talk's Laughing Stock at under a fiver with free postage. Yes please, I'll have that, thank you very much. It completes the Talk Talk set for me. I always thought it was a crappy name for a band back in the day. It still sounds awkward to me as a global telecoms company.

Offers and counter offers went back and forth for Weller's Kind Revolution on CD. In the end we settled on a reasonable £3.75. I just need his debut and most recent Fat Pop to tick everything off the list.
#
I also put in a cheeky offer for another pair of Tudor Sports cycling tights. The phone pinged almost instantly saying WINNER. Yes, they make me look like Max Miller. But it's my style, innit.

Nihal on 5Live had a great little feature on tattoos. The premise was that facial and hand tattoos are no longer a social taboo. The Essex University Dr Tattoo was interviewed. I'm becoming increasingly drawn towards hand tattoos, but I don't think I'm ready to sep up just yet.

I road tested some new pop up plugins for the Rowing Club website. We're finding that we're getting a huge interest in new members coming via the site. The website is a little vague with a call to action tbh. Hopefully a pop up will be able to direct potential new members. But woh. There is no such thing as a simple WP pop up plugin.

Extra Album of the Day: Primal Scream - Screamadelica#
More of an Andrew Weatherall album than a stand alone Scream release. I was very naive in the early 90's. I missed out on all the best drugs and music. So this passed me by, apart from the singles. Loaded was all over the crappy student discos. I soon grew bored. This is a good album, but I'm not prepared to archive it in a Museum celebrating Buzzing Off Yer Tits. It's very dated, but still danceable. Don't Fight It, Feel It is the stand out for me.

I listened to In The Game on BBC Nottingham for the weekend round up. The Super Notts goal had passed me by.
Woh. Plus it's always good to hear from Young Nigel, talking sense as ever. I could listen to the No. 9 all day.
#
The football continued into the evening with the England Vs Germany game. I've more interest in a Wivenhoe Town reserves match tbh. Back of the net, etc ⚽

A cheeky f-er came in with a £10 offer for my FGTH Pleasure Dome picture disc vinyl. I think that's what I paid for it back in 1984. Relax. Don't Do It, etc.
